K.C. Poulin is President and CEO of Critical Intervention Services (CIS). Mr. Poulin has over 20 years experience in the fields of law enforcement, security operations, threat management, executive protection and public safety in high crime communities. Poulin also has extensive experience in the areas of critical incident management and anti-terrorism operations.
Mr. Poulin leads the company in its business development and growth efforts, pioneering innovative ideas to assist in the security needs for organizations worldwide. For example, Mr. Poulin along with Vice President Craig Gundry developed and mobilized an Anti-Terrorism Officer (ATO) Program. Currently there are over three-dozen highly trained and equipped CIS Anti-Terrorism Officers protecting some of Florida’s most critical infrastructure, such as power plants and chemical facilities.
Mr. Poulin, along with California University at Pennsylvania professor Charles Nemeth, is the author of the recently published book Private Security and Public Safety: A Community-Based Approach; as well as The Prevention Agency: A Public Safety Model for High Crime Communities in the 21st Century, which is set to release September 2004. Both books feature a strategy for reclaiming and rehabilitating high crime communities called the Community and Character Based Protection Initiative (CCBPI). This unique strategy, created by Mr. Poulin, has received worldwide recognition from media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, ABC World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, The O'Reilly Factor on FOX News, Der Spiegel television, and France's Courrier International.
Mr. Poulin graduated from Executive Security International as a Certified Protection Specialist and has received extensive training in the areas of emergency management; critical incident management; terrorism; extremism; juvenile violence and prevention; criminal gang identification and response; executive protection; and workplace violence. Mr. Poulin is certified by FEMA for Emergency Response to Terrorism and holds a level III Certified in Homeland Security from The American Board For Certification In Homeland Security. Mr. Poulin has also received certification as a Certified Protection Officer Instructor (CPOI) through the International Foundation for Protection Officers (IFPO) and has been appointed to the Board of Directors for IFPO.
